Save Import Template
When importing files, users will use the same file name all of the time, along with the same settings. You can save these settings for future importing to an Import Template. Once saved, your template will be available from the File / Import menu. For more information on importing from saved templates, see Running Saved Import Templates.
Save these settings as an Import Template.
If you check this option, you will be prompted for a Template Name. This name can be from 1 to 20 characters long, contain no spaces, and should be unique. Giving a Template a name that already exists will overwrite the old template.
You should only save a Template if you know:
- The import file will always be found on the same drive, in the same directory, and with the same name.
- The mapping of the import file will always be the same.
- The bureau, products, and type of report will always be the same.
If the above will always be true, and you are planning on importing more information in the future, saving all the information to an Import Template makes sense.
Once saved, the template name will be added to the Import Menu.
Import Templates are saved to an import.ini file in the East Access program directory. The file size is limited to 64k. If you have many import templates or are mapping many fields, this can fill up quickly. Once the 64k file size is reached, Easy Access will be unable to add more Import Templates. You can delete unused Templates from the File > Import > Edit Menu.
