Zip Code Database

This will open the Zip Code Utility, where you can Find, Filter, and Add new Zip Codes.

Rules Wizard
note (Professional and Enterprise feature)

This will open up the Easy Access Rules Wizard. You can design an almost unlimited number of actions to perform based on the data contained on the Inquiry Entry Form or on the Credit Bureau Report after it is returned to you.

Parsed Report Aliases (Professional and Enterprise feature)
You can use this to create complex parsed report fields and save them under a meaningful name (alias). You can then use the alias instead of the parsed report field in designing your reports or when you do any kind of merging.

parsedalias

Export Reports
This will export any selected record’s reports to a standard text file. See Exporting for more details.

Activity Reports

Inquiries Sent
Click this option to view a report of the Inquiries that have been sent to the Credit Bureau. You will be able to filter this list based on a date range, the name of the person who owns the inquiry, the department the inquiry sent from, the First or Last Name of the inquiry, and a Reference number you may have assigned to the inquiry. Click Ok, and a Print Preview window will appear, showing you the report. Click the Printer Icon to send the report to your printer.

Inquiry List
You can print an Inquiry List that will show all of the records in the Inquiry database. You can Filter the Inquiry List before selecting this option.

Custom Report
This will open the Custom Report generator, where you can create your own reports and save them for later use. See Custom Reports for more information.

EasyAccess.ini

View EasyAccess.ini file
This will bring up a window allowing you to see the Easy Access configuration file. You have the option to save it, or if you are logged into Easy Access as an Administrator, you can also choose to OPEN the file.

EasyAccess.ini file location
If logged into Easy Access as an Administrator, this will give you the option of saving the Easy Access configuration file to a different location other than the Windows Folder (default).

Database Tools

Pack DB
This will Pack the Database of your choice. Packing the database checks the integrity and compacts the database. This should be done periodically to reduce the size of the data file and ensure the databases are in good working order.

Repair
This will attempt to repair a damaged database of your choice. If you are receiving databases errors, there is a chance the database could be damaged.

Note: You should always reboot the computer before attempting a repair on a damaged database. Sometimes databases aren’t damaged at all but just locked. Rebooting will sometimes fix the problems. Also, repairing a database will take some time, depending on its size and network or computer speed. You should always try to Pack first since it is much quicker.

Current Users
This allows you to see who else on your network is in Easy Access. It is always a good idea to check that no other users are locking files before trying to Repair or Pack a database.

Create New DB
This command will create a new database of your choice. This should only be used as a last resort. If you are receiving database errors, and Packing, Repairing, and rebooting your computer have no effect, the last resort is starting with a new database. Selecting restore will create a new, empty database in the database directory.

Adjust Field Sizes
You can use this utility to adjust the size of the database fields in the Inquiry database. Exit and restart Easy Access once any changes have been made.

Change DB Path
If you wish to select a different path to your Easy Access databases, choose this option. You will be prompted with a list of directories to choose from.

Inquiry
When adding a new inquiry that is Marked to be Sent, a Window will pop up showing the formatted record that Easy Access will be sent to the credit bureau. This is the exact text that is sent to the bureau for this inquiry.

Connection
Toggle this option to begin recording a log of all communications between Easy Access and your credit bureau. Unchecking this option will close the log.

If you are having trouble logging in or if you are getting other Transmission Errors, you can create this log and send it to Real Solutions technical support. Just enter your Inquiry, click on Tools>Debug>Connection, and then hit Send. When you get the Transmission Error, click on Tools>Debug>Connection again to close the log and email it to helpdesk@realsol.com.

Connection Server
Toggle this option to log all communications between the current workstation and the connection server. The results will be stored within Modsrv.log. Unchecking this option will close the log.

Bureau URL
You can use this to verify that Easy Access can contact the credit bureaus and receive reports through the Internet. This is a good test if you are going through a firewall. Your default browser will be opened and go to the HTTP or HTTPS address of your credit bureau. These are listed in the easyaccess.ini file in the [Bureau Setup] section.

The “HTTP” specification on a URL goes to port 80 by default. The Secure Socket Layer “HTTPS” URL specification goes to port 443 by default.

COM/HTTP Inquiry
This will take the data from the current inquiry and create an inquiry string suitable for COM or HTTP use.

RSmodem.log
This is a detailed log of the connection to your credit bureau when using the Dial-up connection type. The file is saved as a text file and is opened in the Windows Notepad for viewing.
INet.log
This is a detailed log of the connection to your credit bureau when using the Internet connection type. The file is saved as a text file and is opened in the Windows Notepad for viewing.
EasyAccess.ini
This will open the Easy Access initialization file in Notepad. This file holds many settings from Company Name to choices of printers and modems to size and positions of windows. By default, this file is located in your Windows directory.
Modsrv.log
This will open the file generated after you have used the connection server debug (above).
Initial.txt
Easy Access records the progress of loading every time you start the program and records those steps in this text file. If you receive any errors while starting Easy Access, click this option to open this file in Notepad.
DBPaths.ini
This will open a special configuration file displaying each workstation’s current program path and database directory path. This is useful in determining if one workstation is opening a different set of databases or running a different executable file than the other workstations.
