Version 6.7.0.0 (6/30/2021)

  • Added support for new SSL versions
  • Added Experian’s Custom Solutions product
  • Misc bug fixes

Version 6.6.0.0 (9/26/2016)

  • Added TLS ver 1.2 support for Experian’s Demo and Production connections. This will be required for all Experian customers connecting to their Demo site or Production site in the next coming months.
  • Added support for installing TransUnios’s SHA2 Certificates. This version will install either the older SHA1 or the SHA2 certificate just in case TransUnion changes its requirements. Note: This will be a mandatory requirement for all TransUnion customers receiving their reports from TransUnion over the Internet by 2017.
  • Added the Real Solutions’ Software Certificate to the Easy Access Installation file. This should keep customers from getting warnings about ‘Unknown Source’ when downloading or installing in Windows 7 and up. NOTE: New software certificates could take a few customer downloads and installations for the certificate to be recognized by the different Browsers and Windows databases.
  • Added support for the Military Lending Act, both as an add-on to the credit report or as a standalone product. Even though Easy Access supports MLA you will need to contact your credit bureau before you are able to receive either MLA report. See this page for details.
  • Added additional Experian Risk Models:
    • Experian’s Fair, Isaac Auto V3 (RM-AB)
    • Experian’s Fair, Isaac Auto V8 (RM-AG)
    • Experian’s Fair, Isaac Auto V9 (RM-FE)
    • Experian’s Fair, Isaac V8 (RM-AF)
    • Experian’s Fair, Isaac V9 (RM-F9)
Note: While Experian’s FICO® Score 9 suite can now be requested from Easy Access, clients must work with their Experian sales representatives to ensure signed agreements are in place prior to any implementation.
  • Equifax Print Image Changes. Now displays Equifax’s Acrofile Plus Print Image and the regular Print Image’s Headers and Page numbers. This is only for the human-readable text reports.
  • Experian’s ‘auto’ 130 segment request. Certain Experian Risk Models (when requesting an ARF or Parallel Profile “Both” report) required that Segment 130 be also requested to receive the Risk Model. The customer would have to know which risk models required the 130 segment request and have to select it manually in Easy Access otherwise. They would receive an error or just not get the Risk Model. Easy Access now does this for these new Risk Models.
  • New Debugging in Easy Access. I totally rewrote the Debug Log logic (that hopefully, no one will ever have to use). Now, not only can you open a visible Debug Log (Tools Menu > Debug > Debug Log), but you also now have the option to record the log while Easy Access is running. This way, if Easy Access locks up for any reason, you will still be able to view the Debug Log text file to help diagnose the problem. Also, when you set up the debug to automatically save to a file, this option is also used if you have the Enterprise version running as an NT Service. This will make debugging NT Service problems much easier than scrolling through Windows Service Messages. NOTE: When using the logging function, it does use more system resources and thus should slow down the software (though not noticeable). Even more when recording to a file. So, the Debug Log really should only be used when debugging possible problems that you might be experiencing in Easy Access.
  • Simplified Debug Menu. Removed some Debug Menu options now that they really are obsolete when using the new Debug Log option.
  • Fixed: Now sending our correct Vendor ID with TransUnion Inquires.
  • Fixed: When Easy Access was originally written back in 1993, it used modems to dial-up to the credit bureaus to return reports. Now sending over the Internet is the only way Easy Access will transmit inquiries. But, in some circumstances, when the credit bureau returns an HTTP error, Easy Access would still check to see if it could dial-up instead and return a ‘Dialup Error’ to the user.
  • Fixed: Occasionally, a ‘List Index Out Of Bounds’ error that would occur in the RulesWizard.
  • Fixed: In certain circumstances, when sending multiple inquiries using different Departments that have different Output types, Easy Access wouldn’t always display the report correctly when viewing in the software (this did not affect the export file if you were exporting). Since this has never been reported as an error, it must be a very unusual error.

VERSION 6.5.6.0 (8/3/15)

  • This update now posts to Experian’s ECALS Server (Lookup URL Server) when sending your first Experian inquiry after the program starts. This is only done on the first inquiry and again every 24 hours if you leave Easy Access running.
  • Added an ECALS Failsafe. Easy Access now keeps track of the Net Connect URL each time your successfully pull a report. If Experian’s ECALS server ever fails to return a good URL in the future, Easy Access will automatically send the inquiry to the last successful URL is saved. This will hopefully keep problems from occurring if the Experian’s ECALS server fails to return a URL, like it did in July 2015.
  • Added a new Command-Line Parameter: NOECALS.  If you use the NOECALS parameter, Easy Access will never attempt to use Experian’s ECALS server. Instead, it will always post inquiries to the last URL that successfully returned a report.
  • Easy Access Administrators can now edit the EasyAccess.ini right within the software (Tools Menu > Debug > Easyaccess.ini > View Easyaccess.ini file. When changes are saved, the INI file is automatically reloaded. No need to restart the software. Keep in mind, each computer that uses Easy Access has its own easyaccess.ini file.
  • Misc. minor bug fixes.

VERSION 6.5.5.0 (1/27/15)

  • Added TLS encryption for Experian’s Net Connect connection.
On 2/6/2015, Experian requires all HTTPS connections to use TLS encryption. For the last few years, Easy Access has been using an HTTPS component that automatically switches to this encryption method if the server it was connecting to required it. While this component is supposed to do this, it has never been tested in the ‘real’ world as Experian has been using SSL 3.0 encryption. Because of this, in this update, we have added additional code to ensure that our Experian customers will have a smooth transition for Experian’s new encryption requirement on 2/6/2015.
  • Removed old COM Object, which hasn’t been supported for years and was causing problems with newer versions of Windows forcing many users to check the ‘Always run this application as administrator’ option in the properties of the Easy Access shortcut.
  • Added a lot of new test files off the Edit Menu
  • When pulling a TransUnion Canadian FFR/Text (Both) report, the Text portion of the report was not being formatted correctly. Fixed.
  • If the Debug Log was turned on, 2 TransUnion reports would be stored and/or Exported. Fixed.

VERSION 6.5.4.0 (9/19/14)

  • NEW EXPORT OPTION (Professional, Enterprise, Architect Editions): Prior versions or Easy Access gave you the option to have your reports automatically exported to a filename of your choice. But you did not have the option to choose your own file extension. Now you have the option of letting Easy Access assign the file extension for you, or you can assign it yourself.
  • NEW USER PASSWORD OPTION: When adding new Easy Access user passwords, Easy Access would treat these passwords as Temporary Passwords, thus making the new user change their password the first time they log into the software. This is now an option.
  • NEW EXPERIAN RISK MODEL: Added Experian/Fair Isaac Risk Model V8 (RM-AF)
  • While earlier versions allowed a user to view the Easy Access INI file, if they are logged into Easy Access as an Administrator, they can now easily open the ini file for editing.
  • Cleaned up the Setup Wizard. Changes only affect new installations.
  • Experian requires that Easy Access will be protected by both an administrator-level password and a user-level password. On new installations, once the user setup these passwords, Easy Access would then force them to change both their passwords. This has been fixed.
  • Easy Access now recognises when a user gets an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error from TransUnion and will display a message explaining the error along with giving them a link to our website to fix the problem.
  • Experian returns an HTTP 302 error when the user’s Net Connect password needs to be updated on Experian’s website. Easy Access explains that to the user. Now Experian is also sending an HTTP 303 error for the same reason. If a user receives this error, EA will now also display the same explanation to the user and give them a link to our website for an explanation and instructions on how to update their Net Connect password.

VERSION 6.5.3.0 (7/9/14)

  • FOR OUR NETWORK ADMINS: Now you have a choice where you want to have the EasyAccess.ini file (configuration file) saved. The Windows folder (default), the user’s /AppData, or the Common User’s /AppData folder. This will keep you from having to give a standard Windows user access to the Windows folder for Easy Access. This option is available to Easy Access Administrators only, off of the Tools Menu.
  • Added support for all Experian Precise ID products (Architect Edition)
  • Added new command-line options (start-up options). See the Appendix in the help file for more information.
  • Added new procedures to the Debug Log (small debug window displayed at the bottom of the application). While the Debug Log has existed for years, it was shown for informational purposes only. Click on the ‘Tools Menu > Debug > Debug Log’ to not display the log. The Debug now allows you to:
    •  Save it to file
    • Copy it to the Clipboard
    • Optionally adds debug information while communicating with the credit bureau.
    • Optionally will URLDecode the Debug Log, allowing you to easily see URLEncoded information in the log, making it easy to see connection logging info.
    • If closing Easy Access with the Debug Log open, Easy Access will ask you if you want to save it prior to exiting. Also,  it will automatically open and start logging in when Easy Access is started again until it is closed by the user.
  • Much smoother closing procedure. Many times, if quickly re-starting Easy Access, you wouldn’t be able to. This was due to the fact that Easy Access was still in the process of closing down procedures. This code has been much improved.
  • Easy Access will automatically select the Experian Precise ID product if it sees that the PIDType field was being imported or was included in an HTTP Post no matter what product was set up as ‘default’ for the Bureau Department. fixed. (Architect Edition)
  • In some instances, when setting up a new workstation or new installation, a message would display asking if you will be connecting to TU over the Internet. Just annoying but fixed.

VERSION 6.5.2.0 (3/11/14)

  • Added support for TransUnion’s L2C Model Report
  • Added 2H Purpose code to the Experian Bureau Setup to support ‘Collection Inquiry (Soft).’ This was originally added to version 6.5.0.0 but wasn’t showing correctly. Fixed. Note: This shows only in new installations.
  • Added Precise ID Product type 20
  • Removed ‘Check for Updates from the help menu. It will be added back in as our website matures.
  • Added Equifax’s ACROFILE PLUS Output/ACROFILE PLUS Print Image Combo (31)
  • Fixed Architect Edition bug. If a user, using the watch directory feature, had the Precise ID fields mapped for their import file and tried to import any other type of inquiry (like a standard Credit Profile) and left the Precise ID fields blank, they would get an import error.
  • Added some advanced options for TransUnion’s Certificate Management in the TransUnion Bureau Setup:
    *  New Certificate Verification. This displays the date and time the certificate was installed.
    *  A link that will let you verify your current IP Address
    *  The ability to manually delete a current certificate.
    *  A link that will take you directly to TransUnion’s Client Technical Services website, where you can create a new certificate and update your IP Address list.
  • Bug Fix. Earlier =TransUnion versions, when a new certificate file was installed, it did not save the SystemID and password correctly until the software was re-installed. Fixed.

VERSION 6.5.1.0 (8/12/13)

  • Now supports installing new TUNA2 Certificates over top of old TUNA2 certificates. This allows customers to install new Certificates as their old TUNA2 certificates expire.
  • Changes to the new User Security introduced in 6.5.0.0. One customer was getting an invalid date. Fixed.
  • Added a ‘Details’ link to the Net Connect Warning displayed on the Home Page that will display the departments that caused the message to display along with the estimated date it will expire.

VERSION 6.5.0.0 (6/11/13)

  • Easy Access now supports the new Enhanced Security Measures. Click here for information on implementing this feature in Easy Access.
  • NEW SECURITY FEATURE: Masked user passwords.Earlier versions of Easy Access would display all user passwords in the setup options. This version now masks all those passwords. When an administrator adds a new user and assigns the user a password, Easy Access treats this password as a TEMPORARY password. When the user logs in using this TEMPORARY password, they will be prompted to create their own password. This also is true if the administrator changes a current user password. If changed, Easy Access will treat the new password as a temporary password forcing the user to change it when they start the software.
  • Added new Permissible Purpose Code for Experian Collection Customers (Collection Inquiry (Soft) T-2H) for new installations. For current installations, this version allows customers to manually add this new code. See this post for more information.

VERSION 6.4.2.0 (3/13/13)

  • Added back an old feature. GrabIT. This is for customers that can’t import from their application into Easy Access, either by our manual File Import, our Watch Directory, or our HTTP Server.
  • Added new Equifax Output Type: FFF/Acrofile Plus & Print Image
  • Fixed Equifax FFF Return. In some instances, Equifax returns different segment sizes for segments ‘TC’ and ‘PT.’ Now, these segments are checked.
  • Watch Directory Exception: Added a new exception message that should return the Windows error message if there is a problem importing a file from the Watch Directory.
  • Added support for Precise ID type ‘6’.
  • Changes that users would make to the Import Rules were not being saved. Fixed.
  • Easy Access was not properly assigning the Read Timeout from the Network Settings. Fixed.
  • If Easy Access received an error from the credit bureau, it would resend 2 more times before displaying the error to the user. Now Easy Access only attempts to resend if the error is a timeout.
  • Added additional exception error messages while sending an inquiry. This should help diagnose connection issues a user might have while sending.
  • Re-mapped Help Buttons to the correct online help file since easyaccessonline.com has been totally redesigned.
  • Removed VSP (Virtual Serial Port) tool. No longer needed.

VERSION 6.4.1.2 (6/18/12)

  • Fixed the way it connects to the Lookup site to make sure it only tries one time while the software is running.
  • Added ENTRUST as an issuer for the Experian certificate. This version still supports VERISIGN as an issuer for backwards compatibility for both the DEMO and Production Experian environments.
  • 6.4.1.0 was installing the NT service for Enterprise and Architect version with the service name EAServ rather than EAService. This has been fixed so it won’t be confusing to users who had earlier manually installed the service from the command line.

VERSION 6.4.1.1 (1/24/12)

  • 6.4.1.0 did not allow users to change to the new Experian DEMO URL in the Experian-only version of Easy Access. This has now been fixed. Click here for information on how to change this URL.

VERSION 6.4.1.0 (1/17/12)

  • This update now allows users to change to Experian’s new ‘DEMO’ site URL. Click here for information on how to change this URL.
  • On new Enterprise or Architect installations, the NT Service is now automatically installed but is not activated. You will still need to set it to automatically be activated within the Service Applet and, of course, set it to an administrator account.
  • New installations now recognize the Architect License ID.
  • Now allows Equifax customers to enter non-alphanumeric characters in the subscriber number ‘-’ password field in the Bureau Setup. Thus the ‘@’ can now be entered.
  • No longer checks for program updates at program startup. These options will be added again later.
  • No longer shows Popup Messages since newer versions of Windows can’t display the old Helpfile. Another option will be created in a later version to help new users use the program.
  • For years, Easy Access has been compressed to a smaller size (the EXE file or program file). This was originally done because it uses to be shipped on 3 1/2 disks years ago. Since it is now being downloaded or put on CDs and our Installation compresses them anyhow, we are no longer compressing the files. We feel since the file doesn’t have to be uncompressed each time it is used, it may speed up the software.
  • 6.4.0.3 BETA: Fixed the printing problem, which would produce the word ‘ERROR!’ When trying to reprint a Stored report.
  • Fixed the Canadian Report issue where a user would receive an error when trying to pull a Canadian Report
  • 6.4.0.2 BETA: Fix problem where Easy Access would assign the wrong URL for TU. Now it looks at the installed cert and assigns the correct URL depending on the cert installed.
